Gojeep, the photo is a bit of an illusion, this head is already angled, so the front is vertical, or close enough for me. :)

To add to gojeeps explanation safari snorkels and I assume others design the head so the base is horizontal. This means that the face is more protected from falling rain but also changes the way they drain.
Most have 4 drains all the way around, most water hits the back and out the rear drains but any slower moving water should drop Dow the front stick to the head and pass out the slots between the he's and snorkel pipe.

Here is an image.. Might explain better than my rambling..

Actually the page the image is on might make far more sense than me.

Build is impressive as always.

Stretch4x4 safari snorkels as pictured in your post are at 90deg the head , what I have used is at a more acute angle, approx 45deg so this replaces the need to put a bend at the end. With my snorkel I get a little droop back, as I use a flexible joint at the bottom of the pillar, I don't like a fixed mount at the top.

Ah yes I see your point, it does appear tighter than the old safari heads.

Looks like their newer ones are a similar design

Should work either way.

You would have to ask though how any snorkel head could have a could have a aero dynamic design. :)

I have received the most expensive open ended spanner I have ever brought, it only cost $2000,

lucky it came with a few extras.

Now I just need to think about where I can fit it best, I would like it as high up as I can, but still need to be able to access it for diagnostic purposes.

Never fiddled with ECU's B4, but that deff's looks the goods & @ that price should have enough tunability to run the NASA Space Shuttle

You would think so, I have spent half the day tracing the pinouts back, just for my own satisfaction, but so I have some idea what and how it operates with my engine.

For the last couple of days I have been setting up my new EMS from Wolf, Robbie from Wolf has been logging in on line so he can set the base settings, now I have to get it on a dino to tune it. I hope this can be done Monday in Townsville after the V8 weekend.

Setting the base settings.

Image

Temporary fit for the Wolf, I plan of fitting it in better, once I have it running right.

No Toyholden I don't think I would like to test if it is water proof. :)

Can I ask if anyone gets notified if they get a new post, I know I used to, but now I don't get any notifications at all.

I have just checked my settings and it appears right, I filter all my emails through mail washer so I see all the emails sent to me.
