My 2005 Hyundai Tucson CRDI

Unread post by Joey83 » July 29th, 2018, 5:25 pm

Was encouraged to post some pics of my car, so here goes.

I am te 3rd and final owner and have so far done the following things to it:

Replaced the stock foglights with ebay LED ones
Removed the "bullbar" thingy Hella lights
Removed the sidesteps (it was only a matter of time before they would have fallen off anyway)
Relocated the licenceplate
Replaced the oem 16" wheels and cheap 215/65-16 tires with 17's and 235/60-17 Toyo Open Country A/T's as I wanted something different.
Removed the "4WD" badge on the sides as I am not a fan of chrome and want to go with a black and dark grey theme on the outside.
Added my Overland Bound members badge just below the indicator.

Have also done a few changes to the inside of it.

This is what it used to look like when I bought it from the 2nd owner.

This is what it looks like at the moment as you can see, some changes have been made in the 18 months I've owned it (the flags/stickers are there just for fun).

Thanks.

It has the 112hp/255nm 2.0 16v common rail diesel engine and it's getting a chip in the not too distant future which should bump the power to 140hp/300-330nm (no turbo = small powergains)

I'm also going to add:

A roofrack.
Recoveryboards (because I've already got stuck once).
An awning (probably a 2x2.5m one).
Get the windows re-tinted as the stock tint is not dark enough for my taste.
A lift it 60mm sometime next year.
A better stereo.
A front 2.5mm steel skidplate.
A removable sleeping platform.

Dashmat fitted because I wanted one (the centre trim piece is actually silver)

Not at all, it will be my daily driver with the capability of handling some mild offroading/gravel roads.

I'm already thinking about buying a slightly bigger suv, am looking at a Hyundai Terracan and mod that instead of the Tucson.
