LS1 2003 Hilux Conversion

Unread post by ChevyLux » April 30th, 2015, 6:49 pm

Hi all, Rohan here.

I realize this isnt a 4x4 but i thought i might as well try anyway. Feel free to remove if there is any issues.

Since i cant find any Ls1 hilux builds in 2wd or in this year. Anyway i previously owned a earlier year hilux with a 1uz non sr5. This was great fun, had plenty of power to have fun with about 160kw@ the wheels. (not very much i know) I then sold this regretfully. And later brought another hilux but this time 2003 and sr5 :) After a few months of driving it i become bored of the 3l diesel and decided to do a engine conversion with something a bit different then just another lexus v8. So i decided on an ls1. I found a package for sale on the internet with a tuned 300kw at the wheels ls1 with a tremac t56 6speed gearbox and all the wiring, radiator, ect ect. Im stil currently in the process of building this. Will upload more photos soon with more details on the build.

Cheers

You have some great skills mate and you are right, a conversion like this will be the same on a 4WD Hilux.

Cheers

Header wrap was a must because of clearence on fuel and break lines.

Hi LuxLs1dream, neither Rohan, the OP of this thread, or Paul, the OP of the LSLUX thread have been on the boards here for a few years, possibly because they couldn't while we had lots of access issues, or maybe for some other reason, but still, I don't know if you'll get any response from a direct post like those you've put up. I have spent a bit of time searching to see if I can track down & re-attach their pics & images, but as you can see, no luck so far! :o So maybe your best bet would be to click on their usernames in any of their posts, and then 'send an email' from their profile page. If they still have that email address, you should be able to reach them that way. :thumb:

Good Luck. ;)

Hmmm, you can't click on their username up the top right of any of their posts & get to see their user profile?!! (That wasn't really a question, unless maybe rhetorical - I tried to do that using your permissions, & I can see that the system won't let you!! :( ) I wonder why not?! Some checking is obviously in order.... :o

In the meantime, I'll send you a PM with their email addresses. :thumb:
