My Jeep mod's

Unread post by Clarkey16 » September 11th, 2014, 10:47 pm

This is my 2006 Grand Cherokee, It has a 2" lift & 265/70/17" tyres.
20150925_133501 (1280x906).jpg
There are no engine mods or chips, in stock form it has 160kw & 510nm torque.
It has factory fitted Eaton electronic limited slip diff's that can fully lock & are controlled by the traction control system.

Today I fitted my new larger capacity B&M transmission pan to my 06 Grand, should help keep the temps down ;)

The pan fits the NAG1 G/box in diesel grand 2004 to 2011 & JK Wranglers with the tiptronic auto shift.

Airflow snorkel

Unread post by Clarkey16 » October 8th, 2014, 3:29 pm

Airflow snorkel
The template was fairly close, only filed 2 of the 10mm holes to provide adequate clearance.
I used a 95mm hole saw for the intake hole (5mm bigger then recommended) and fitted a rubber seal from an oven door around the hole making it a snug fit.
The only concern is the flex hose that connects the snorkel to the air box is in contact with the inner plastic guard,
I was worried it would rub through but I couldn't see any other way to rout the hose through, I ended up using a hot air gun to re-shape the inner guard to improve clearance.

I will see if the snorkel head grows on me, if not I will replace it with this

FleBay Lights

Unread post by Clarkey16 » October 23rd, 2014, 8:45 am

Can't justify $1000 on lights at the moment (lightforce LED 180's) so I got a set of eBay cheapies.

I like this a lot. Great built up. Great to read about something different.
As I hope to go back to 1 4WD in 2015 ( I have a Patrol and a Rodeo) I might look into this option too
I might have missed it but is this a V8 or a diesel?

Cheers

Diesel 3ltr 160Kw & 510Nm,If I wanted to spend $1k it can be chipped to 190Kw & 600Nm.
Running mud terrain tyres I am getting 13ltr per 100km around town & 10ltr on the hwy. With my second set of A/T's I can get high 8's on the hwy.
And 3.5 ton towing
An online buddy has just listed his on carsales, he has just upgraded to a new one.
