Nope, NEVER too many !!! Good thread, great pics! :thumb:

It might be smart to always try to put them up in posts with no more than 5 or 6 pics each tho; the software does seem to be working OK atm, but there have been quite a few (some lengthy) periods where many readers couldn't even open threads that had any posts in it that had more than 6 pics attached/showing..... :(

:thumb: Photobucket & the like work well most of the time!! ;)

If you ever think your thread is not interesting enough, watch the number of views rather than the number of posts/replies, & then double (or triple!!) that number to get an idea of how many are actually watching!! The 'view' count only shows the number of registered users who are watching your thread, we generally have at least double & often well in excess of triple that number of un-registered guests watching too - and your build & trailer threads are amongst those that get a LOT of attention!! :waycool:

OK, so I had the old man up for a couple of days, and I suckered him into helping me align the Transmission and transfer case to the bellhousing. It was a pretty easy job considering, but Im glad I had a second set of hands.

Image

I have to work out my PS pump and mount, before I can go any further. That might be interesting.

A day of success!

So here is the RHS engine mount before, Note the total lack of 1 bolt and that 2 of the others are totally snapped.
These needed replacing and I needed to change the mount so I could set up the Power steering pump.

So after setting myself up with easy outs, a drill, bits, and stud pullers ect I picked the old mount out and started to work.

Image

Image

I have never been happier in my life when they just wound out at finger tight. Both of them straight out and new ones in.

Image

And heres the new mount.

So I still have a dead starter on my daily driver and thats really slowing me down.
I welded a new battery tray. (the welds are terrible)

Image

But the battery fits, and I have worked out how Im going to mount it to the chassis. not quite in the factory position but a little lower and underneath the brake booster. this leaves me some room in front of the battery and gives me some future options.

Image

A new position for the PS pump

Image

Image

I still need to make a bracket to hold the rear of the pump to the block.

Image

Image

The pully lines up nicely and the mount is nice and strong. but I did have to remove the temp sensor from the thermostat housing and make a sump lug to fill the hole. I am going to put a more accurate temp sensor in the water pipes somewhere.

So I started to grind the bottom of the tub.

And I needed to get into the little crevices around the front of the tub so I took the handle of the grinder.

2 minutes latter and BANG the grinder jumps and catches my shirt. It winds the shirt up and goes into my chest. Thank god the shirt wound so much that the grinder overloaded and stopped spinning.

And even though it scared the living cr@p out of me there was only a graze - It still hurts now 5 hours after it happened.

Note, this is the only grinder I own that still has the safety guard on it.

Ok so I got some more work done this week.

I finished the PS pump mount (which is way more complicated then it needed to be, but I made it out of scrap metel so Im not complaining.

Image

Image

I have the radiator surround in and the PS lines all done. (The soft lines are way to long because I dont know where the res will end up) The cooler is of a ford something, but it looks like it should work

Image

Image

Slowing me down, some F-wit (yes me) drilled straight into the radiator. So this has to go to the radiator shop tomorrow then the entire front end can be setup.

Image

PS does anyone know If I got this arround the right way. (60 series box high pressure line @ top of image). Or do I ahve the lines backwards?

Image

Look out for the next installment when I attempt to build a bullbar that will take my highmount winch!

Mate I love your work and admire your skills. But drilling through your radiator made me feel a little better. Even the pro's make mistakes

Thanks for the support BigDutchy, but please dont call me a pro.
