Making up the engine mounts on a rusty old chassis before blasting and paint. I used the old steel truck body as a guide on where to sit the engine etc.

Out with the old 308

In with the new LS1

Jigged it all into place and started making mounts.

And strip it all for blasing and paint. (I actually got it all the way down to bare chassis.)

While the chassis is away I overhauled the dash and glovebox etc.

Oh and I rigged up this electric actuator. I now select High/Low from a switch on the dash not a lever through the floor.

I am having a fair bit of trouble uploading more pics to Photobucket at the moment due to really bad signal where I am but as soon as I can get more online I will load them up here.

But from now on is the fun part of the build. putting all of the pieces together!

Very very tidy, the ground up builds are awesome.
Would love to pull mine apart and get it all looking that neat.

This time next week ill be driving across the Simpson desert on my way to race the Finke desert race. Im heading up from the Adelaide area to Birdsville then across the French line to Mt Dare. Over to Apatula and up to Alice. Once Finke is done and dusted im going to Uluru and then down the bitumen home to Adelaide. It should be a good test for the Cruiser!! Ill make sure I get some decent shots going up big red etc! After this little holiday I plan on putting the car on a dyno to see how much power im getting!

Cheers and thanks for checking out my thread.
