I also dropped into ARB Penrith the other day to see what i could get a locker for, ended up getting the guy down to $2000 for 2 which i thought was pretty good, has anyone got a set or just one that they want to sell me?

Re: TRAVIS - HJ45, 12HT, 5 Speed, 35", Pwr Steer, Rebuild
Hey guys no more progress on the 40 other than organising what parts I need and prices. The next thing to source is all the pwr steering bits. I've done a rough price list but it will probably end up costing more with all the little things I've forgotten.
Custom Tray $500
Lights $250
Bulbar $250
Engine $3000
Rear locker $1000
Diff breathers $10
Paint $1000
Batteries $400
Suspension $2000
Roof top tent $1000
35" bfg km2 tyres $1800
60's front diff $250
Rebuild diffs $360 + labour = $600?
Clutch + rubber boot $300
New fluids
Alloy storage boxes $1000
Indicators (75 series) $100
Snorkel $300
Floor mats $50
Seats $300
Wiper blades $5
Radio $230
UHF $300
Extended brake lines $100
Door light switches $30
Power steering $200
Engineering $2000
TOTAL $16,975
I can see a few unnecessary things being cut from this list as I will only be on apprentice wages next year

Re: TRAVIS - HJ45, 12HT, 5 Speed, 35", Pwr Steer, Rebuild
Update, i had wednesday off school last week after being evacuated at lunch time on tuesday due to the fires in sydney. So on wednesday i went to Don Kyatt's (stocks terrain tamer) and met a salesman with a few 40's himself. A few hours later i walked out of their with a swivel hub rebuild kit for $70, a front pinion seal $4 and 2 greasable fixed pins $10 each for my BJ40. I fitted the pins to the shorty and gave it a service. The next step for TRAVIS is to rebuild and respray the front diff so it will be ready to go.
TOTAL COST:
$6630 + $70 + $4
= $6704
Then on thrusday afternoon i decided to pull the front diff out so i could rebuild it when i got time.
I finish school this thursday so there will be a few messy nights
and then i will be back with you all. I am also going to start working so i will have more income and hopefully can work on the car more if i have an early day. Cheers for watching but keep commenting!!!

Cheers for all the comments guys
went down to a brake place the other day to get extended diff to chasis brake line made up. Got them 4" longer but since then have decided to do something different, which i will tell you about later
, so they may now be useless
This cost me $100 but i will try to on sell them.
Anyway i have an update and it will be the last one until i finish my last HSC exam (4 weeks).

I also bought adaptor threads to go from the square drive plug in the swivel hub to a grease niple so i can fill it with grease

I'll hopefully have it all striped off the chassis and start on a bit of body work or something else before christmas

My Rigs:
1982 HJ47 troopy cut down, lifted and locked.
1988 HJ75 ute slowly getting rebuild.
1985 HJ60 coiled comp truck.
as we grow older, we don't grow up our toys just get bigger and more expensive.
