Eraser mark II 2012 Sr Single cab.

Unread post by ERASER » November 8th, 2012, 8:56 pm

Well the 106 hilux is gone and my new sr single cab is ready to be picked up. I pick it up saturday morning from bathurst. Ive already ordered a few goodies from ARB to keep me entertained for a bit while i work out what else i want for it. I've also kept the 42 inch and 22 inch light bars of my old lux to use on this one. This one is going to be very sedate compared to the last one as i know the limitations of crap IFS front ends. Only plans for it at this stage are snorkel, dual batteries, long range tank, twin light bars and twin ARB lockers. Oh and some better tyres in the factory size.

It wont be changing much in the looks department. Only other mod i have planned for it are twin lockers down the track. Its mainly a hunting/touring rig so im not going overboard.
Love the power, makes it a realy comfortable long distance cruiser. Economy is great to, 1750k's to a tank on the open road.

Sounds like custom then. Lol.. I wont go back after having a bar to many skippys around... That explains why.. Nice size tank. What made you gou the single cab?? After having a space cab i wouldnt buy a single.. The extra room was great

My first new hilux in 96 was a space cab. After that all my utes have been single cabs. I prefer the larger tray so i can fit bikes on or sleep on the tray.
As for the bullbar and roos, in 22 years of driving ive only ever hit one, and it hopped into the side of the car anyway so a bullbar wouldnt have done anything to help. Besides i tend not to drive early mornings or late afternoons when theres more of them around. If i do have to drive at night i have a 42 inch light bar and if you cant see a roo on the side of the road with the amount of light the light bar throws you shouldnt be on the road.

Touch wood,
You know your gonna take out a Roo now, dont ya
Who doesn't drive in the early or late hours of the day in a 4by when out bush
They are the nicest times to be wheeling :)
You dont normally see the Roo that hits you either. Besides these utes look realy good with the right bar on them.
Good luck with it !!!

ive also decided that i want to do the harder tracks again, and your kidding yourself trying to do them in a IFS lux. So ive bought another solid front lux. This one will be more offroad orientated that the last one......
