Cold as. It runs at 82 deg easy. On Saturday morning driving out to cruiser, it got as low as 74deg. I thought something was wrong. I've got a hysteric thermal switch for it now. Cos the way it is now the fan doesn't turn off. This new switch turns on at 90deg, off at 85. That'll work better for me.

The old one didnt leak, it was just full of mud. Easier to buy a new one than clean it.

The new one leaked from the weld around the spout for the radiator cap. I just put some aroldite on it. It's better than new

The rewire is well underway. I got a 12 post fuse block down next to the factory fuse block behind the drivers kick panel. I also got a 8 carling switch holder.

So here's my embarrassing bits

Nice one! :thumb: i love my rear spartan. You won't even know it's there on the road. I'm going to put one in the front eventually. My theory is for the price of a selectable locker I can get a spartan and dirty 30's with change and never break a cv ever again! Just my theory, nothing against selectable lockers. I am just poor :D

You'd be surprised how often you flick them off. I turn mine off pretty often.

So what was your reason for going the spartan? Did you have front and rear airlockers before?

No I've always had that trutrac in the rear. The Spartan is going in the rear and it's still air locked front. I flick off the front to help me steer sometimes, I don't know how I'd go with a auto in the front. The Americans say on pirate and fb, if you go full spool or auto in the front you need hydo assist or full hydo. Idk man, maybe auto lockers unlock well in the front?? I'm hoping with the Spartan in the rear I won't have to rely on the front as much. I

Ah righto. The Trutrac is pretty much an LSD isn't it? I haven't had any expirienxe with them. My spartan unlocks fine in the back of my lux with barely any weight on it. One thing I did notice is though, if I have 31's on it the differential force between the two wheels is not enough to unlock the locker. But 33's and 35's are fine. In the front there is more weight therefore more force on tires and more traction to unlock it. Thats the theory anyway haha.

Air locker front and spartan rear would be ideal I reckon. You'll hardly use the airlocker with the spartan in the back. Especially with the rear travel you have! :D
