Is Swapping HF2A for HF1A trans case possible? Pro's/con's?

Hi Guys,

I am considering installing a part time 4WD kit in my 105 and the thought of changing the transfer case instead entered my mind. I believe the transfer case in a 105 GXL is a HF2A and I was wondering whether it is possible to put a HF1A in its place (I think this is the part time one). I am not sure if it is actually possible and whether there are any pros and cons worth considering.

In my view I can see a pro being that there would be no electronic actuators that can fail, not sure what other considerations there are though.

Would love to hear some opinions.

Watching this thread... as I am considering doing this in my FZJ80 as it looks like the part time transfer is stuffed and i was gonna put a part time kit, SOOO why buy another part time transfer and a marks kit if i can put a hf1a in.
I believe one thing you will need is a Longer tail shaft as the hf1a is a shorter transfer however i know nothing else about doing this conversion
