Do I need a wheel alignment after installing lift kit?

Unread post by Lewy88 » September 18th, 2018, 1:19 pm

I installed a Dobinsons monotube lift kit on the weekend. We didn't need to seperate any of the ball joints or play with the steering arm at all, just undid the four bolts that link the upper control arm to the upper ball joint.

Should I get a wheel alignment done? I assume it is best if I do.

Cheers,
Lewy

Yes! Just because you didn't seperate/move anything it doesn't mean your alignment won't change!! The change in static ride height will have made some difference to where your vehicle now sits within the arc or range of movement of any of the fixed length suspension/steering components, so at the very least you are quite likely to need toe in/out adjustments, & probably more.... :o
