Unread post by rocksteadybt50 » December 22nd, 2013, 5:09 pm

Hi. Just wondering if any forums members have tried or experienced the pedal torq module in their bt/rangers, cant find a lot of info on them, looking at their potential to help with throttle response, any help appreciated :)

PS Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

PEDAL TORQ-increased precise throttle response equates to more power, faster.
-eliminates throttle response delays.
-maintains power throughout the entire gear change cycle.
-smoother overtaking in all gears
-plug and play module, simple and quick to install
-three driving modes with six levels of customisation,18 settings in all.

Recommended to me by the same bloke that fitted my pacemaker king brown exhaust system ,connects into accelerator
pedal ecu connection, the only thing worrying me is will it put any faults codes out.

Be under no false impressions, it does not increase engine power, only increases the sensitivity of the FBW throttle.
I installed one on a modified TRD hilux and it was certainly noticeable, damn near impossible to drive on the higher setting without toasting the tyres everytime you took off lol
But, saying that, I can see the benefits of having one.

Does it get rid of that delay in response when you brake (say) for a round-a-bout and then get back on the gas to jump into a gap?
If I brake then get back on the loud pedal nothing happens for 1-2 seconds irrespective of how fast or far I floor it. That includes the engine - it's not revving up waiting for boost so it's not turbo lag. After the pause it'll launch like crazy.

I use the kiss principle, having recently had to pay big amounts to sort out my recent breakdown I have learnt a lot about The EGR system and it's effect on performance. After having the manifold and the manifold absolute pressure sensor cleaned I now find my bt changes gears better and will kick down when I hit the throttle, something it wouldn't do prior to this. I needed to kick back to overdrive off to do any passing, not anymore. You have to witness the gunk that came out during the cleaning.

I am using the Plug and Go version on my auto. Removes the delay on the electronic throttle and makes it a much nicer vehicle to drive.
Highly recommended for cut and thrust traffic, makes life safer!

Just put one in mine. Freakn awesome. livens the whole show right up. My ute is for work; Auto, loaded up with about 550kg in the tub + fuel and me, 2" lift, 285/70R17's, 3" strait pipe (no cat or muffler). Seriously so much better. Will be chucking a Stienbaur module on it soon, and possibly a PWR or HPD front mount.

I got the windbooster throttle controller ($225 delivered from eBay) it took under 60 seconds to install and made a huge difference!! It has 3 modes power, economy and stock standard. The power and economy modes each have 9 different sensitivity settings which can be controlled while driving on the led display. Best improvement for under $1000 out there

Just interested in this product myself. I was looking at fitting one to my Colorado as when backing trailers and taking off it seems to stall easily and also when taking off it bogs low down in the RPM before taking off. Have you noticed if the windbooster changes things so that for example when you only press the pedal half way the computer thinks its being pushed 100 percent, or does it actually change the delay in when you push the pedal and the signal is received by the computer? Sorry bit hard to explain what I want to get across but hopefully you understand.
