Hi NEWBTGT,

Was your battery box fitted by the dealer? The dealer I take mine to said I can only have the plastic box fitted inside the Mazda accessory tool box, not sitting in the tub as yours is. Is yours secured through the bottom of the tub so there's no movement? Thanks.

I had fitted:
-reversing camera (its a GT, so the Mazda genuine)- for some reason they mounted the cam at the side of the rear number plate- next to useless. At first 1000k inspection I got them to move it to above the centre of the plate, much better. It seems to collect a bit of dust and water etc so give it a wipe every now and then.
- tow bar etc- all good
- rubber floor mats- no issues. Mine dont seem to move at all
- slimline shields- work as expected, so no surprises
- tint
- full tub liner and tonneau cover
- bonnet protector in smoke. My GT is the copper red, the smoke/tinted bonnet protector seems to remove a bit of the depth out of the 'V' in the front grill, looks better somehow?

Really nothing to complain about.

I had my steel battery box fitted inside the genuine BT50 tool box no issue

Thanks Mick.

I was more thinking about having the plastic box just sitting by itself, as long as its securely located. My steel box has fallen apart. The rivets all got torn out, and that's why I'm looking at plastic box. Another alternative I'm thinking of is to take it to a good welder/fourby fabricator and have them weld and strengthen the box. We'll see what Mazda do/say with what's happened and go from there.

I have had my BT for 2 weeks now and this is what I think of the add ons,

Bull bar- I like the look of it but should have gone ARB or TJM for winch mounting in the future,
Rubber floor mats- Do the job just fine,
Reverse camera- Love it but the camera looks cheap on the back,
Reverse sensors- Way over sensitive and will be getting the dealer to have a look at them next service,
Sports Bar- There for looks only and looks good to me,
Tow bar- Does the job and offers some protection off road,
7 spoke alloys- I like them as I think the stock wheels do not look the best, Only problem is the rears protrude from the guards.

Had the factory snorkel fitted this week. Has anyone else noticed the engine noise that comes out of the scoop? Not an issue for me as it sounds OK but....

its amazing how loud they are, i jump in the work ones that dont have snorkles and they are so much quieter,

i havnt tried it, but a k&n or uni filter should make it louder again.....

Im not to happy with the way the Genuine Tray liner fits around the tub on the D/C. There is a lot of thin metal overhang at the top of the tray which will dent if any load moves around.. I think it should have rolled over the top of the tub!!

Snorkel Is good though!!

Hey kenny
I agree with you, the tub line is really thin and flexes a bit at the headboard. My old hilux had an after market tub liner that wrapped over the top os the sides, and it was fairly thick. When shoveling dirt etc out of the tray it didn't matter if you hit the sides, with the Mazda one I think I'll have to be a bit more careful.

Snorkel is good.

I have fitted a Unifilter in mine, not sure if that has help with noise.
And with windows up, it's not annoying at all.

Windows down, or when your 4x4, omg!!!
