than just avoiding an itchy bite for a few days. We have all been told
to wear loose clothing and use insect repellent, but do we do it?
I never realised how important it was myself and thought it was a bit
weak to spray on repellent (in perth) to go outside. I lived up north for
a bit, but that (I thought) was a different story than in the suburbs in a city.
Without scaring everybody about mosquitos, just a reminder to everyone
to cover up and not get bitten. Especially if you live near a lake, swamp, open drain
any sort of stagnant muddy water. Make sure the kids are under a net or
have insect repellent on.
I may have gotten Ross River Virus from the things, and just putting it out there to everyone
to be aware of mozzies. If I get my tests back and they're positive i'll be spreading
this a bit further, there needs to be more awareness on what's around and I'm surprised there
hasn't been more news coverage. We have an open drain out the back and I should
have known better.
I had a look at some of the statistics and tests done on mosquito traps and the
figures seemed pretty alarming. ( for people located near a wetland.)
Not trying to scare anyone, just be mindful
