welder or boiler maker?

Unread post by stockhorse » January 20th, 2015, 7:19 pm

Can anybody tell me the difference between a welder and a boiler maker ? Does one qualification lead to more job prospects than the other ?
Thanks

boilermaker is certified to weld high pressure vessels I think, whereas a welder is a lesser qualification. I could be wrong tho

nowadays, a boilermaker is classed as a welder/fabricator, whereas welder is determined as exactly that...one who welds, often preassembled structures in jigs, not fabricates...both terms are commonly used in the same context now anyways
