WD 40 1964

For the stuff that's NOT 4WD related, here's where you can come on in and discuss it, but do play nice!

She is a keeper then, she is literate, imaginative and probably has a sense of humour , but that really does depends on just how hard she slapped you

Are you really sure the ad was from 1964, or is this a recent photo-shop type gee-up?

Lifted from elsewhere

The name of the product is and always has been WD-40 (with a hyphen). This has been the company's registered trademark since 1957, and it's had some two dozen registered trademarks of the term. Highly unlikely that a company that puts that much value on the name would present it differently/incorrectly in any advertising, much less twice in the same ad.

Also there's a typo in the final line. "Its" should be It's" ( but then again the yanks haven't always been know to be grammatically correct )

One of our local bands had a great song about WD-40. Each verse was about different situations saved by WD-40 and the chorus about how everyone needs some WD-40.

Just a bit of trivia really, WD stands for water dispersant and the 40 is the 40th one tried in the experiments on it.
The name has just stuck.

heh from the bottom of the snopes article that debunks it... "Nonetheless the company still appreciates the humor: after someone shared the photo in question on WD-40's Facebook page, the company simply replied: "AWESOME!!!" "
