For the stuff that's NOT 4WD related, here's where you can come on in and discuss it, but do play nice!

Thanks guys, the aim is to make it look as scale as possible.I've done ok
with the paj but some of the guys on another forum i'm part of really take
it up a level. One guy has made molds for all the hilux panels and makes them
from baking tins,so the body gets damaged realistically. Some of the stuff out
there is amazing.

Here's another pic of the paj, incase anyones interested.

There is some cool stuff in this thread.

It's called RCC (rc rock crawlers) I spend a lot of time there.
Here's a link to that guys aluminium bodied hilux if youre interested,
i spend hours looking through the builds on there. Some of them are just astonishing.
Some of the guys use wood, metal and plastic, even carving body's from styrene (white plastic.)

Here's the aluminium one-
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-9-scal ... -body.html

And heres a 60 series cruiser this guy made from scratch with styrene-
http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/1-5-scal ... -fj60.html

Theres a wooden landrover somewhere too, that thing is cool.

A lot of these guys make everything by hand, steel "C" channel chassis, the whole
lot. There are a lot of talented guys on there and i'm only brushing the surface.
I left the hobby for two years and couldn't believe how much it has expanded.
Some of the guys make parts and have made buisenesses out of it,anything you can get
for a full scale truck they make for little ones too.Winches, dual speed gearboxes,
beadlock wheels. There is one guy on there who makes his own RC excavating equipment
with working hydraulics.

It's full of colourful characters though that place, as most of the members are guys over
20,don't mind how they carry on though,it's just the way it is over there,i quite enjoy it.

Have a gander,it's a pretty cool place and theres loads more there than just toy trucks.

Unfortunately this layout has been taken apart and packed away into bubble wrap and boxes so that the 4WD and Maxima can fit in the garage. I had almost all of a large 8M x 8M double garage full of trains. It took 4 years to build. No not the rolling stock. Just the layout, including buildings and scenery. The grand kids, neighbours and myself had a ball for several years. But you know the best part was actually just building the layout. And the electronics to make sure that one train did not hit another. They aren't cheap. Basically from both east and west Germany. That wiring run that you can see in the first photo ended up about two inches in diameter (across).

For photos there is only one way. Here are a bundle and you can find a few videos in my youtube account at "vk1dx".

This is how it started and later doubled in size.

We're doing fine mate. I've been lurking around. Missy however can't log in for a few weeks now. For some reason it can't be rectified.

That's pretty cool Rat.

Why are so many truck drivers fascinated by planes? I work with about 40 drivers, a few fly & all things aircraft are constantly talked about.
