They're taking our country (and we're letting them)

For the stuff that's NOT 4WD related, here's where you can come on in and discuss it, but do play nice!

Try going to another country (Japan is the notable one) and freely being allowed to buy real estate, especially a farming area...you'll be laughed out of the place.

Another Aussie icon that was sold off was ROVER mowers.
I was working there in the massive Brissy factory until the end of 06 when it was bought out by OS company and production was shipped to China.
About 200 people out of work after it finally closed the plant down.

Lets fight back and start buying up some OS big brands...Kraft, sanitarium, nestle, cadbury, lets make them aussie owned Lol

It is a big worry that everyone wants to sell everything off. The goverments want to sell electricty plants off in NSW. I think all off the mines, gas , and petrol, [Coles woolworths] are overseas owned. Its a big problem poor old Aussie land won't have anything left.
VB is the Very Best beer. But i will drink most beers if they are cold.

Ok guys, Yep another Australian icon has been sold out from under us, but the important thing to contemplate is the people that work in the Australian brewery. Does this mean that more Australians will loose their jobs. (hopefully not) But if they keep their jobs at least they are still employed and some of the money will stay in Aust as opposed to it all going overseas. Lets support these workers...

By the way I dont drink VB anymore as I believe they changed something in the recipe some time ago and it always tastes "green" to me.

SABMiller is owned by its shareholders - and they come from all manner of countries around the world.

Want to own a piece of Fosters? Buy SABMiller shares. Simple.

The sale of Foster's has been on the cards for months, so to whinge about it after the fact is pointless.

SABMiller is South African, Fosters will do to that country what apartheid didn't manage.

Their sportsmen will be able to choke on their beer AND under pressure.

VB=Visitors Beer. So many awesome aussie beers to choose from, there is no need to support overseas companies. Coopers, Barons, Matilda Bay, Holgate, Jamieson, James Squire- all aussie beers and thats to name just a few. Expand your tastes a little and support local economies while youre at it. :thumb:

I'll drink Coopers (Red or Green, in fact there's a Long Neck Red in the fridge at the moment) first choice, then Squires.

I'll drink water rather than XXXX Gold (They really did name it XXXX because they couldn't call it floral...) or Tooheys New (which has something in it that makes me need to piss like a racehorse even after one, whereas I drink a long neck of Coopers no problems...) VB? I'll pass on a drink altogether...

If I'm out with the guys and they all order VB, I usually get a coke on the premise that they aren't having a beer, so neither will I :)

Wife and I where in a duty free liquor store that was HUGE, the lager seection was 20 foot long, ten high, ten wide.

We're trying to recognise country of origin let alone brand when there's a huge shout. Two blokes run up to us with their trophy, "They've got VB!!!"

You've traveled half way around the word for a beer you can get in the street at home. Sigh.
