Nissan Patrol - looking at buying an RD2.8T or TD4.2??

RD2.8T or TD4.2
I do not know which to buy both that i am looking at are 1999.the 4.2 is 4.5k more.is there that much different?Both have no after market parts.

Any help in this would be great.

I would say TD4.2 but im a bais TD4.2 owner it's hard to say mate without knowing the overall condition of both the Patrols such as service history driveline and body condition etc.

If they are both in similar condition.....I would go for the 4.2! Would not even look at the 2.8
But there are a lot of happy 2.8 owners out there!!
Being 1999 they must be GU's
Big truck for a 2.8 motor.....

^^^^ as dutchy says , wde have 2 2.8s in our club & both have cracked heads 1 of them twice , we have several 4.2s & the only cracked heads the have is the blokes who drive em .
