Re: Name That Place-Photograph
OK here's is some clues
It's closest to nilla60.
It will make a good round trip if you are doing Bendethera.
And this section of the track looks like someone had gone along & pruned the heath .

Nilla goes camping in and around the Snowie Mountains.
It must be in that part of NSW I think.

Re: Name That Place-Photograph
^^ They sound like good clues if it's the place I think it is, the pic & close to nilla almost makes it a surety, so here's a couple of cryptic clues to add - if it is the place that I think it is, then if you go looking for Yowies you'll only be an r's whisker off it & likely not too far from a lonely peak; & if you get to the top of the range not far from the pic, you'll find another crossing, two rivers & a lotta flat ground!!
And if you go much further than that you could end up in a biiiig hole!!
Mind you, if it's not the place I think it is, then you'll prolly be waaaaayyyyy off!!

Re: Name That Place-Photograph
Hey, I'm on a roll here - go much further north & you could have a snow ball's chance, but just a little further South you're either on the brown or following the mailman!! South & East a bit could see you riding a wild pig towards the sea (if you can find the legal & open track, otherwise you could get shot!!) but west there's a whole lot better ski-ing!!
Won't I look silly if it's not the place I think it is.....
But if it's not, it looks awfully much like it, & it fits the other clues & pics sooo well too!! Well worth a visit if you are ever 4wheeling on the Monaro Plain or exploring near Bendethera!

And here's one more clue there is a campsite just down the track from here that we had to ourselves & the other camp site was fully booked out in advance.

Wherever it is, it's somewhere I should go. It really isn't that far from me.

Re: Name That Place-Photograph
We have a winner
Good on you BigDutchy
The track starts at the corner of Wadbilliga Road & Numeralla / Countegany Road & you can get all the way through to Cobargo . We didn't go to Cobargo we turned around after a camp at Lake Creek as we were on our way to do the Davies Plain / McCarthys & Limestone Track through the Alpine National Park.
The other campsite is the Cascades & further on in the Deua National Park is The Big Hole Peter mentioned.

I have never been there but love that part of the world. We have seen a bit of the Snowy mountains and did plan to have a look at the area you showed us but the ongoing rain kept us further north west.
Good to go try again.

Hello
If you haven't been here you should go there!
I have been there easy about 10 times and love it. It's a magical place.
There is a big change that you will see no one for a few days.
I love the quietness of the place. Lots of Aboriginal history.
It borders a better know NP. I am always surprised that 2 parks bordering each other can be so different.
Both are 100% worth checking.
