Aldi Winch test & Twin Locked Bravo

Unread post by 101bravo » March 13th, 2011, 7:55 pm

Here's a combo you dont see every day. I now have twin diff locks in my Bravo and fitted an Aldi winch. Here is my first real test. As you can see the handbrake does not approve of my Sunday afternoon Bravo testing. She's just jealouse cause her stock 2010 GU has no mods ... yet :)

Cant wait to test this all out at Levuka this Easter

The Aldi winch was about $399 I think. It was from the last batch sold late in 2010. Sorry, it may have been $499... either way, a bargain and most guys on here are really happy with them.

Rear is an ARB Air Locker which helped heaps cause my LSD was stuffed. The 4WD Systems Auto Lokka was the icing on the cake as it just stops all wheel spin when my lame IFS front end cant reach the ground. See my Youtube vids when I broke steering/CV/Idler arm with a wildly spinning wheel. Yeah, i know 'lack of experience'.... but it was killing me not to make it up this hill.

Aldi Winch test & Twin Locked Bravo - Lokka not happy

Unread post by 101bravo » April 3rd, 2011, 6:51 pm

OOOPS, went to The Springs on weekend. Lokka did not unlock. Spat out Front Passengers side shaft.

At this point I'm expecting it will be an installation issue. More will be revealed in the coming days I guess.

Twin Locked Bravo spat a Shaft

Unread post by 101bravo » April 4th, 2011, 7:35 pm

Well, the Lokka tested all good. Clearances are fine. It's starting to look like she got all wound up from me just cruising around in 4x4 sightseeing the tracks. Tyres pressures were already low (20psi) .. new tyres, too much grip and too much sight seeing. The Madaz was winding up like the spring in a clock and went bang. Well, that's the theory. Hoping to head to a local track this Fri for a test.
