Any Alice Springs 4x4 enthusiasts?

Unread post by emjan » September 21st, 2013, 4:28 pm

We're up in Alice for for 6+ months with our well equipped 4by, living in our camper trailer at a local cara park while I work at the local hosp. Used to belong to Otway 4x4 club before the move up here.

Anyone else on the forum from here looking for trip mates to go out for day or weekend trips away? We've done a few already & pretty much love remote camping & gem fossicking. Have 2 dogs with us that are reasonably under control but rules out overnighters in Nat Parks :purplex:

Mate, I lived in Yulara for about 12 months. There are HEAPS of little tracks around the joint. Your best bet is to go back out on the highway past the airport and choose any track off to the left or right. There are heaps of cool little spots, massive sand dunes, an old quarry etc etc. If you go about 20kms out of town there are a couple tracks that go all the way through to Mutitjulu. Go exploring! If Yulara is anything like it used to be, there isn't much else to do after work

Hi Bear 80, behind the transport museum off the stuart is one of our favourites with hours of fun tracks near the Rifle Club, just watch out for the Widowmaker
