I so wish I had them when I was driving. Used to spend at least $100 a day on food and drink. Definatley going to have a look and see what there is on the market, looking at desiging a 'kitchen' to go into a trailer so having 1 or 2 of these mounted in might be an idea. Just need to set up a battery in the trailer as well.

I can't speak for the Dick Smith ovens but I've got one of those Travel Buddys and they're great.
Of course its going to take time to heat things up, it's not a friken microwave!
Mine runs off the second battery and yes it pulls about 6amps.
They seem pretty well built too, cost me $180 from memory.

It only takes 30min to heat through my stuff in the truck, so I can't complain about that. The only thing I might do differently
is to maybe, not cook the meat as much or put some water in as well for the reheating, so as not to dry out as much. ;)

I've got a large metal toolbox on the back of my ute. Would having one of these stoves running in the toolbox whilst I'm driving be safe?

Bump....
Who uses the travel buddy ?
What do you cook in them?
On a few of the later DVD's
I have seen the blokes loading in what looks like topside roast and veg...
Has any one done this? Give a few clues on the how to's
As I am thinking of getting a Travel Buddy for cooking a meal when on the road....

Cheers jimp
