79 Series 2013 build

Unread post by Ethantyrrell » September 22nd, 2015, 7:22 pm

Hi guys,

So for my first post is the build and work im doing to my 2013 toyota landcruiser single cab GXL,
Bought in QLD with 28,000k on the clock and zero mods, drove it back to WA where i live and started building it,
i work FIFO so this will be a slow process in my days off.

-so to start off i bought toyota headlight and bonnet protectors for the trip over,
-then once home i added a 12,000lb ORU synthetic winch which was a lot harder then i thought as the last can you didnt need to remove the bullbar.......
-next was 2 Lightforce 240 XGT to make the bar not look naked,
-then went on 2 rated recovery point
-fast flow head for the snorkel,
-had to replace fuel filter after crossing the nullabor,
-then i sound proofed the entire cab with 2 stage sound deadening, one butyl backed foin then a dual density foam... what a crap job...... took forever
-Then threw in a roof console and mounted the UHF up top.

a work in progress and will keep you updated when more parts get here :)
Cheers
Ethan

sorry for the delay in updates,

so over the last few weekend I have fitted:
-3Inch stainless steel exhaust,
-replaced all the exterior bolts with stainless steel bolts,
-fitted an under tray tool boy,
-fitted an under tray air tank,
-fitted 2 reverse lights
-fitted and alloy roof tray and mounted the hilift jack and shovel on there,
-fabricated a LPG bottle holed to go near the sub tank filler and sent it away for sandblasting and powdercoating, did all the cutting and welding myself and pretty chuffed with the results :)
-removed the old tint and tinted the side windows with 20% and the rear with 10%
-put a strip of adhesive foam in the gap between the tray sides and the tray to stop s#@t getting in when i eventually decide on what canopy i want.

hopefully over the next weekend ill make a gas stove bench that hooks onto the tray bars

another update,

-after the holiday break i have installed an A pillar pod with EGT and boost gauges,
-replaced all of the nuts and bolts around the exterior with S/S
-installed door pods with 6" component speakers
-mounted the engel in the tray and sewn a canvas cover to protect it from the rain untill i can make a canopy.
-also i removed the roof lining and finished the last of the soundproofing thankgod

This week coming im planning to install the dual battery and the dc-dc charger, mount the first of 2 dual batteries and start fabricating the canopy for the back, i was considering a ally one but i only have the means to weld steel, will upload updates as we go along.
