93 jackaroo extra cab cut

Unread post by Geeps08 » September 28th, 2014, 12:53 pm

I adopted a non running jack. Got it running and looked it over and was reasonably impressed with build quality, rear susp , interior, thanks Isuzu. So I thought let's king cab it. Plans are to get the cab finished and painted. Build one of my custom ally canopies for it with the ability to carry tinnie, sleep in, cook out of etc. Increase fuel capacity by adding another standard tank then make a set of rock sliders , snorkel and bull bar for it. Lift muddies winch etc all normal stuff. I have my own lux but I like the look of this already. Might get some use before the boy gets it for a first car

Very true. I actually am liking the look of it to tell the truth. With the coil rear end and disk brakes I'm liking it as a ute.

yeah id have to say its a shorter wheel base than a deo. the rear wheels cut into the door like a wagon but a deo would have the full rear doors like most dual cabs............well apart from tritons. its a slow project as I have a canopy in the shed im building and other bits and pieces. want t get the rear wall done soon and get it ticked off so I can paint it. wasn't going to put a rear window inas I think it is a waste of wall space especially when theres a canopy behind it. starting to like the dark silver on it too.

Well after a year of building canopies for other people I pushed this in the shed in the last few days and it's about 3hrs from finished and ready for inspection. Then prime and paint. Plan is to keep original colour.

Had a few hours to kill and seeing as the wall is finished I made a bumper / bull bar. Will stick some led light bars in it here and there.

Yeah when a bloke dropped it to me as a wagon I got it going and thought I like this and it has some good breeding to it with coil rear, disks etc and a comfy cab. I thought it will look good as a ute and so it began. Hopefully get inspection done in new year then some paint on it to seal it.then maybe end of next year it will get its canopy. One like a recent customers below. My 09 dual cab lux is in line for a chassis stretch thou early this year and a new canopy too.

I really like how thats looking so far. The shorter wheel base looks kinda cool!
If it can't be fixed with duct tape or a hammer, It must be electrical

Side view of overall look. Still be good for a 1900 long canopy with jerrys and spare with out looking like too much overhang.
