i thought about it a bit more and it will be to much of a hassle to sell it now so ill see how i feel later on in the year after i turn 18. not much to update all i have done is put in a 1kg fire extinguisher between the two seats because they were $15 off or something at super cheep and i bought a gopro hero3 so once i learn how to edit a bit i will put up some videos and stuff like that.

Thanks, it's a 1994 so first of the 300TDI's. It's got 300k on it and I picked it up for a little over $5k, but had to put a bit of money into to get a road worthy and running better. They only came out in Australia with a tray back, this one has had the back of a 2 door wagon/troop carrier put on with a Series 2 tail gate on the back.

Went out to some clay pans not far out of town yesterday, ended up getting bogged a few times! haha. A combination of very worn out tyres and a low slung rear diff. But was a fun day, mud everywhere including on the steering wheel, dash, and on the door trims.

Not the best idea leaving your D shackles on the recovery points on your bull bar. Had to send my mate over the roof to get them off (I'm the one in the tray)

Should be getting some new tyres soon, looking at Federal muddies - seem alright for the price, anyone use these?

Nice old ute you have there. I also have a land rover ute, that is a bit differnet to yours. As the old landrover saying goes, making mechanics out of drivers since 1949. You will in time get to know as I did your own land rover very well. But they are a great drive of road so you tend to live with there niggles. Also one thing to note the never leak oil, they just exude power.

Haven't posted in a little while. I got a 20" LED light bar for cheap and put that on the bar, and I dropped off my standard steel rims at the tyre shop to get some 235 85 r16 toyo m55's, they're just all terrains, but they should be nice and strong. They were at a price I couldn't say no too, and came up at a good time because I don't have much money and I got a flat on Monday. Now for some pictures.

300tdi defender ute

Unread post by dazzy170 » April 8th, 2013, 11:54 pm

It was about a week too late to be perfect timing, but a friend of a friend decided to sell his old 285 75 r16 MTZ's so I bought them.
Image

Image
One is almost brand new and the others have maybe 40% left in them

I thought I would have a go at putting them on my alloys by hand...
Image

Image
It was harder than I thought it would be and took me a couple of hours to get one done.

Image

Image
Got bored and decided to test fit the one that I did put on. Fit perfect, but just touches the radius arm at full lock.

And I just decided I would pay someone to fit the rest, because it's too hard, so I should have them all on by the end of the week.
