Ok so, update time
Now, I might be going at this a bit backwards, but I've been drawing up prototypes, cooking up ideas, changing my mind and generally procrastinating about doing anything on the Hilux for some time.
Add to that a nightmare 2 years, new job, almost going bankrupt, trips to hospital etc I've decided to motivte myself
So tonight I picked up some new boots. seeing these every day I hope will motivate me and make me pull my finger out.
Here they are in comparison to the 35's on the cruiser
Not a lot will happen for the next month or so until I get some other stuff out of the road but the plan is pretty much set in concrete now. I even have a Tow rig prettymuch sorted.
I'll be building it up according to CCDA "Buggy" specs
I'll keep the current V8 5 speed for now.
Plan on setting the engine back 6-8 inches.
Longarm triangulated 4 link rear,
Hybrid cruiser rear axle.
4 link front again with a hybrid axle.
Air operated sway bar disconnects front and rear
Triples and coilover shocks on all 4 corners,
Thinking 16" on rear, 14 " on the front
Hoping for about 14" of travel on the front and closer to 24" on the rear.
Black Bull custom barwork, internal CCDA cage, Black Bull Custom tank.
12/24v system with my usual overkill
Will have to wait for a bit, but hopefully I can keep full fenders on it, looking to use a pre-runner style front and most likely will make rear fenders too so I can run in rally events as well.
Also plan a full custom dash with built in GPS and terratrip.
Question now is, do I try and keep it "Registered"
