Are there many/any tracks near you there/anywhere around toowoomba? I'm looking for tracks to go on but nothing exciting out west further(Roma)

Heaps of little tracks mate but there is a far bit out your way. Heaps of nice 4bys around Roma, have a chat to one of them they'll show you a few.

The Manar is a great park. I love the "gorge".
I do not know Roma that well. I know the Manadaly Motel, Cooka's, the bakery and that's about it. It's fairly flat out there isn't it?
I worked just a few hours out of Injune near Mt Moffat. Although you need a 4wd out there it's not really 4wd heaven....unless you got some rain....

yeah roma is pretty darn flat. I was watching a few youtube videos on Manar park and the gorge tracks looks like a good track to go on!

Carnarvon national park isn't too far from you. Everyone usually has their own little tracks, might be reluctant of sharing.

If all goes well I should be picking up my painted canopy very soon, very excited to start modding. Have spent a small fortune on electrical goodies of late so will be good to instal them. Canopy lights, stereo, 3rd battery, solar panel, USB and cig chargers to name a few. Getting quite close to finalising this rok.
Cheers Oli

And guess who forgot to take pictures, very busy at the moment. Took a few but the quality isn't great due to night photos but beggars can't be choosers.

Bet you can't guess where this was taken. They really should have better signage.

Mocking up electrics. Can't stress enough how important putting something in place, walking away to think, grab a beer, coming back, staring, rearrange and then sleep on it is before getting the drill out. Long process but the outcome will speak for itself. For those playing at home that is an led strip on the door.

Draws, damn they're sexy.

One seriously tidy looking Amarok you've built there Oli. Love the work with the scrub bars/xrox bar.

The aerial is for the stereo I am running in it, just in case I feel like listening to the radio round the campfire. Have set the canopy up so it can be independent of the car, bit hard to see but right beside it is a waterproof Anderson plug that connects to the 2nd battery under the bonnet just in case I need to charge the whole system up.

Hidden Anderson plug that's runs the fridge, don't know how anyone runs those other stupid little plugs for fridges, they work ok when stationary but once you start bouncing around they ain't so good. Mine lasted standard for two months got the ships and changed it to Anderson, lovely.

Hidden cig plug to charge the instant hot water system.

Got the drivers side lights wired in.

Here's the auto switcheroo (technical term) that turns the door light on as soon as the door opens.

A couple of manual override switches as no one backs baby in a corner.
Image

Have been running my fridge at 0 (it bounces between -1 & +1) for 24 hours with the solar panel running, it's having no probs keeping up.

Starting to use the fuse block.

And finally my favourite modification tool.

Empty under 200kg. Heavy duty base on it so I can lift it off the ute fully loaded.

Image

Two cigs plugs, two USB chargers, the fast ones (iPhone, iPads etc quick chargers), switches for rear lights, side lights and stereo. Then a switch for seeing either solar voltage, or battery voltage. Then the stereo.
