Green Turtle GU Dualcab ute ITS BACK!

Unread post by THE RIG » January 30th, 2013, 2:34 pm

gday, heres my GU patrol. its a 2000 3litre manual.

done a majority of the mods myself, except for drawers and rear bar( i did the swing aways)
2'' dobinson lift, 285 federals, homemade roof rack, homemade roof console, homemade dual battery and electrics trays in engine bay. 2.5'' dodgy aftermarket exhaust, and a cactus warn winch.

this is it.

Great rig,
I like the roof rack, was it difficult to make?
If it can't be fixed with duct tape or a hammer, It must be electrical

Nice looking rig mate. Well done on making most accessories yourself. Keep up the good work.

That's some great work you've done mate. I like the lights at the front of the rack too.

Looking great. Still love the roof console.

went to double island early this morning, knew the tide times, but didnt realise the effect the recent storms etc had. alot of sand washed away and no beach, this was the 3rd cutting 2hrs before high

Image

not alot to do all day, road tripped up to rainbow, had other places to go in the area and we tried the freshwater track. this was 2hrs after high

rainbow was closed to vehicles aswell.

a couple from tinnanbar, we spent all our lives camping here until the park was bought out, and all vans, cabins, camping areas and amenities removed. i hadnt been there for approx 6yrs. this is just south of maryborough and overlooks fraser island, great fishing spot

was good to visit an old place that we always knew, all up 660kms.

couple of random ones

changed the latch on the wheel carrier, the previous one ended up rattling too much. this way is working much better, took a quick trip in the bush to make sure it worked alright.

recently dropped to 265/75/16s on factory alloys, i found it was taking some effort with 33s when loaded up and fuel consumption wasnt crash hot. drives beautifully now, just a little lower and gets bogged easier haha

we had a play in my mates paddock in widgee. good fun

then we went out to bjelke peterson dam out goomeri. beautiful dam, a couple of fish, but no yabbies.
