Haha yep was a bit of a surpise, amusing too cause while waiting for the tires to be fitted (and a quick plug here for the boys at Associated Tyre Wholesalers round the corner from work in Osborne Park, Arrived at 7:20 (10 mins before they opened), 25 minutes later I was out the door with the big girls new shoes :D )

Amusingly, while waiting outside as the tires were fitted I saw a GQ drive round the corner with the same wheel cover, and at the time I thought to myself "That looks pretty cool!" didn't expect I'd get one :D hehe

Lol nothing wrong with Bighorns Mark, they seem to be doing you well!

One of my other present arrived today as well!

Image

Couple of front recover points (one per side) to suit GQ & early GU's.
Excuse the paint run, i'll fix that tomorrow (Or i'll just mount that side against the chassis haha)
Thanks to Matt @ Offroad Division for getting those to me :D

Now I play the waiting game for my warning buzzers, and my ECUTalk, both of which I expect will arrive next week sometime :D

On a side note, my boy Turbo is lookin a bit sad n sorry for himself. The other day his ear swelled up a bit, Had the vet check him out, it was an infection of sorts. That's been all sorted now, but he's gotta wear a cone for the next 2-3 weeks.

Image

On another side note, we got bored this avo and started building a jump for the 50's hehe. There's really no good that can come from this but what the hell eh?

Image

Plans for the long weekend:
Going with my bro to buy a van,
Service the trol
Race the 50's
Test out new tires :D

Haha yeah you're probably right.
We'll be sure to take some action shots of the 50's, and any broken bones that result from them.
So far the burn count is 4, 3 on my brothers right leg, and one on my left bicep. (Oddly enough, all caused by his bike haha)

Fitted up one of the front recovery points today.
I can see the holes in the passenger side rail for the other bracket, but I can't see how to get the plate with the nuts on it, in there to bolt it to. I initially thought taking the bullbar off would suffice, but the crush box appears to be welded in there.

those dog cones dont last long. had to put one on our mut to stop him pushing through the fence. in a drunken moment i thought about grabbing the cone and using it as a urinal. after the cone fell off i made him a bumper bar that attatched to his collar.

got to be happy with the rubber. need pics of 50s.

The 50's were a bit of a no show today.
Couldn't find any exhaust wrap stuff. We tried one product but it was a dismal failure.
Contemplating cutting up my welding gloves tomorrow as a temporary job.

I had a bash this avo on mine, the jump was a tremendous let down lol. Ended up ploughing through it more than jumping it haha.

Feel the rhythm, feel the rhyme, Get on up, it's 50 time!

Got a bit sidetracked this avo.
Had a few beers, and some mates of my brother rocked up.
Nothing left to do but break out the pitbikes for 50 Wars!

Some highlights.

Me on my arse. No idea what Shaun's doing up the back (or how the hell he got there?!)

My brother (Peter) focused on the tight right.

Taking him on the outside, ready for the inside run at the next right!

Image
I'm a bit hazy on what happened here. Bottom line, i stacked it and popped a wheelie, and my brother stacked trying to avoid me haha.

A familiar sight, me on my arse.

Image
... and taking evasive manoeuvres!

Image
Got some catching up to do on the younger brother.

Image

Image
Or i could just run him over. Like hitting a fucking bull in the road with a mini. lol

Image
No idea if im popping a wheelie or what.

Image
Whenever i'm following, my competitive nature takes over, come to think of it, ambition overtakes ability too!

Image
No idea how Pete got there. Didn't quite make the turn it would seem. (Did he even try? haha)

No injuries besides the odd graze and scratch lol, oh and I managed to tear the sole off my left shoe.. We've got some track work to do tomorrow though!

We had a blast, and no complaints from the neighbours - winning! lol.
Ahh yes the ol' ball n chain, as boring as single life can be at times, I don't miss that side of relationships lol.

On a side note, the welding gloves as heat insulation were good in theory, bad in execution. After 10 laps they started smoking lol. Just have to older the proper stuff off ebay.

ECUTalk arrived today :D
Should keep me up to date with all the goings on in the engine bay - particularly coolant temp :)

Image

Came with a mini disc, and usb cable and some pretty cool looking software :D

Also found a way of concealing the hole i cut in my dash fascia for my EGT gauge which doesn't fit due to the angle its on. lol (fouls on the radio frame)
Image

and the donator chip I've purchased got posted today :D
