Hi, How about a snorkel for it? you said you sucked in some water before. there are lots of posts on how to make one on this forum, cheap to make and save yourself some trouble down the track!

yeh thinking about making one with 3" exhaust tube .... atm im half thinking about buying a 2nd hilux off a guy at work pretty cheap and start from the ground up just need to find some more space to do it in it that or just buy it for the motor ( witch has only done 80000kms ) and get a few more bits off it and srap it .. snorkel is on the cards for sure but

If you did buy the other one, you could probably sell off anything you didnt want on here rather than scrap it. Im on the lookout for an old 3" alloy ladder rack to cut up and make into a snorkel, thus avoiding the narrowing of the pipe at the bends which you get with exhaust tubing. I have seen one made from alloy like this and it looks great.

just use welded in mandrel bends and smooth off the welds ... just chucked out a alloy ladder rack at work that got crushed by the fork lift on one end ... how would you get the 90deg bend coming out the side ???

it doesnt need to be exactly 90 degrees,as the rubber joiner from the air-cleaner to the snorkel gives you about 10-15 degrees of leeway. By Cutting the sections and getting them rewelded , you can adjust angles a little, But it depends on what you have to work with. Stainless is still good if you are able work with it, or get it done

EDIT: Ok found the link to a snorkel made from ally ladder rack
