Bloody stoked to have made the cover of 4wd Actions - Australia's Best Outback Tracks Edition from the simmo trip last year!

Awesome!

Thanks Greg, sounds good.

The boat is going great! Just did a trip down to Southend and Beachport over the long weekend, was out 4wding and boating most of each day.

Some other good news, I have just FINALLY (I know i've said it so many times!!) ordered the 3" Exhaust for the cruiser. It will be here tomorrow and I will do a video of the install and difference for anyone interested. I went with Redback Extreme - 3" Straight through pipe only. Got it for a good price and keen to get it onboard!

Hey Brades.
I just installed the same system a week ago to my 76. Was easy as to install and sounds unreal!! louder than I expected and has a nice deep throaty note. You will love it.

Good work mate, fishing trip looked great, made me jealous. Now to organise a Jakem camp one weekend - hopefully after a week of rain.
Here fishy fishy fishy.

Brades.

After having your suspension for some time now, are you still happy with it? I'm looking at getting the OME kit in the next couple of months. Would you do anything different?

Also have you had any trouble with your roof rack mounts tearing into the door seals? I have the ARB rack and when I close the front doors it catches on the mounts and has worn straight through. ARB say I have the correct mounting kit and pretty much dismissed it. Not real happy about it!

PS. Your truck is sweet mate!!

Hey guys! The exhaust is in!

This is by far the best mod i've ever done!

Went with the Redback Extreme - pipe only system, sounds incredible! I've got a heap of footage to edit and put together including some install stuff i shot, but in the mean time.. here is a short vid of the sound at idle and revving a bit.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LfwvHnRWu_4

I have already noticed a huge increase in both low rev power and in the top range, it's a lot smoother to drive and i'm getting incredible results in my economy. I have improved my econemy by 3.5L/100. I used to sit on around 16L/100 around town, now am in the high 11s and 12L range around town and at 110km/h I used to sit on 17-18L/100, now 13L-14L, insane differences and am seriously surprised about this, I guess i'll see after a couple of tanks whether or not this is consistent.

The install was easy as and took 3 hours. The hardest part was getting the spanners in to undo the nuts on the turbo exhaust outlet as they were seriously stuck!

Jakem Farm trip is on for Saturday 5th April, PM me if I haven't messaged you already.

Yea my door rubbers are all torn now from the rack-mounts but they still seal. My gutters are fine with no dents, marks or sagging. My rear door comes within 1mm of touching the mount but is all good, not really much we can do about it really.

The suspension, yep, very happy with it, only thing I regret not doing is getting the GVM upgrade plate (an extra $360) which is on offer to you when you get an OME suspension upgrade with the 400kg constant springs. They are still performing really well and haven't had any dramas *touch wood*. Make sure you get the greasable shackles too, not the standard ones.

Cheers

Thanks Brades.
Good to hear you are still happy with the suspension. Will be ordering it pretty soon.

I have the same exhaust as you, sounds unreal hey!, it makes me smile every time I put my foot down. I paid I bit extra and got the resonator as well to put in if I find it to loud on long trips but at the moment I'm loving it. I haven't noticed the same improvement in economy as you though. I tow a trailer everyday and am getting the same figures as before. It might be better when not towing.

Spent Saturday up at Jakem Farm with a couple of other 76 lads from the forum, awesome to meet everyone and see all the cruisers in action! Was an awesome day of dust and mud and can't wait to get out there again.

A short vid of me nearly rolling the cruiser on a hill-climb.. Thanks to Stonepointer for the vision!

The 76 is the worst vehicle I have ever driven on hills. I haven't pin pointed what it is yet but seems very rear and top heavy and the wheelbase seems shorter than a lot of other 4x4's apart from "shorties" and Wranglers etc. I call it "dippy" on the roads. lol. The nose just dips up and down over the bumps.

But yeah mine is not even raised yet and have nearly rolled it 3 times so far all on hills. They just tilt back and the rear steps out to the side bringing the front around and before you know it she's sideways instead of facing up. I cannot wait to fix up the rear track issue.

Yea it was a good day, will definately head back up there again for sure. It also highlighted a couple things I need to mod to be more happy with the 76.

Was also good to meet Luke and put another face to a username and see that epic 76 in person, certainly makes a 76 with 33's and a 2 inch look small.

I ended up with around 600 pics, will chuck some of the better ones up next week when I get home.

Been a while since i've updated..

Just ticked over 100,000kms in the 76! In the big leagues now and only just run in as far as i'm concerned!

Have done a number of trips recently, but the biggest addition has been a Kaymar rear bar dual wheel carrier. A fantastic new toy and so awesome! Has finally taken all of the weight off the back door and makes it ride a lot more comfortable due to the constant extra weight at the back.

Looks sweet Brades! How have the rear springs taken the extra weight?
