95 4RUNNER BUILD

Unread post by TysonG » September 6th, 2011, 10:33 am

Hey guys this is my first 4x4 and I'm loving it! I have been driving a v8 for the past year so it's a nice change. And when my clubsport got stolen I decided is was time to do it. I've had this car for a week now and couldn't be more happy with it.

95 RV6 4Runner
5 speed man
220,XXXkm
2" body lift
16" mags with bridgestone desert duelers
Tinted indicators and tail lights

Future mods:
31" maxxis on black 15's. ON ORDER
3" suspension lift
Tiger11 winch
20% tint
Long range tank
New spotties
Powder coat bull bar and side skirts black

Any tips would be great as I'm still learning about 4x4's

Cheers, Tyson

Hi Tyson nice look Runner you have welcome to the 4wd world. There's plenty of people on here to give you help and advise so don't be afraid to ask. Also the search and model specific section will give you some useful pointers too. Enjoy the Runner
Happy 4wding
Dean
Who cares what 4wd you have just get out and use it.

very nice lookin runner Tyson . the type of mods would depend mostly on what your gunna use it for , for example if your mostly gunna do beach work the alloy bar and steps will do fine but if your gunna get a bit serious in the bush ditch the ally gear for steel (inc rear bar ) whack on a winch and a locker or two and go nuts :) but the most important thing on a 4x4 is a snorkel first and foremost
cheers Mark

Cheers boys,
Yeah I want it as a all rounder but not to serious. Just to have fun in and still be able to do hood 4wding. Also if I get a winch will I need a steel bull bar?

not really you can get a steel mounting plate that fits inside your ally bar and bolts to the chassis
but just wait till the bug bites and then you'lle want to get serious ;)

nice runner mate, looking at getting one like this myself in the next few months. What kind of economy are you getting out of it? Most people seem to be getting around 450km out of tank with the v6

well 450 seems to be the higher end of what most people get, and the have to do 80-90 on the freeway it seems lol.

i was extatic when i ran some injector cleaner and some optimax and i got to 370 with still a bit left.. i'd never gotten over 350ish before.
it was nearly all freeway sitting on about 110. ill wait and see what the next tank gets this weekend before i get too excited.
