Wow, looks like noone in SA drives much :)

Well I'm doing the border track this weekend so I'll post up some photos and a report in here when I'm done.

I did the track about 2 months ago... It rained pretty much the whole time so the sand was compact and it was pretty easy going. We went from Pinaroo to Border Town and the only real obstacles were the muddy bog holes closer to Border Town.
It was a great drive though, even with the bad weather...

Sparkys,

Don't know whether you are asking for others to come with you or do you just want information.

Camper Trailer Touring #5 and 4WD Action #142 both had an article of the border track.

Hi BennyT50,

Thanks for your advice but we have a group organised and one of them lived at Pinnaroo for 6 years so is pretty familiar with the area...we should be ok!

I just started this thread to hold photo's that's all :)

Hi all Just been through the Track at Easter Longweekend Towing my Jayce Swan off road camper and did it easy.Mind you we did the centre track up to the Junction to the main track,Then turned off at Shauns track back to the Bordertown main road.Only problem was a Puncture on the trailer,as the track is fairly wide. But quite easy to do.My tow vehicle is a 2006 glx Prado.Diesel pre d4d.As per others on the thread I have plenty of Video but can not down load to the sites.

Did Pinnaroo to Red Bluff arvo 1 (Fri 6th), then headed east to the far end of Wyperfeld for the remaining time before heading home.

fidgey, Centre Track is wide and easy there's no dunes. You would have really struggled on the Border track with a Swan camper.
Mt Shaugh track is easy too but a bit more interesting than the Centre Track.
I love terra firma - the less firma the more terra

I did the track again last weekend, and met a guy with a Prado coming the wrong way along the one way section, he was towing a very big trailer and hadn't made it through.

Hi all,

Looking to do the Border Track next week end. Was wondering if there is still a bit of mud about?

Cheers,
