Unread post by mants » September 2nd, 2014, 12:18 am

Hey all,

I took a day trip up to Sandy Cape, a place ive camped at many times, but had never driven down to North Head.
All I can say is, what a great drive it was, fantastic ocean views and great terrian.

Below are some photos from my trip.

Nice photos mate. Been meaning to get out there more often myself. Nice location. Whats that building? Is that an old war bunker or something?

Thanks Tadpole, yeah it's great up there, I really enjoyed it. They are war bunkers, one had a transmitter in it and the other was the control room. I think 3 guys worked there. Crazy when your there and thinking back to what it must of been like back then.

Hi Mants, Sorry to bring this back from the dead, Great pics, really makes me look forward to getting up there in a few weeks. Can you remember how long it took for the drive from Sandy Cape to North Head?

Hey Knighty,

The drive isnt that far, i think its maybe only around 5 or 6km. If you want to camp in a location not at the actually camping ground, take the track to the left at the information board, follow that along and there are some awesome little spots to camp at there.

Heres a video i put together from that trip
