Equally impressed with your trip mate. Can't wait for the day I can make the trip up there. Why do these places have to be so far away from the SW corner!!!

Awesome mate, haha the truck was filthy afterwards, always hard to find the energy after a trip to unpack and clean up! Wouldn't even worry about the vinyl trim on the rear door until you're going to sell it! I got a price from the wreckers at $195- not worth it with the risk of it happening again I guess! The cruiser is looking awesome!

Cheers guys :)

Haha yeah I think it took be about 6 hours to clean the outside of the car.... Then I had to shovel all the mud out of the driveway lol.

I think I'll just cover the vinyl with some marine carpet to make it match the drawers so it should look alright.

Hey Ash,

If you're talking 8 days on the Gibb itself I think you'll be sweet, we spent 9 days on the Gibb which included a trip up to Mitchell Falls and 3 nights at El Questro. You can do it either way and do it much quicker but see a bit less, or stay for a lot longer and see heaps more than we did. Regardless you'll have an awesome time!

The only tips I've got are
- Take mozzie coils! make sitting around the camp a lot more relaxing.
- We had the first car in line telling the rest of us when there was an oncoming car, sometimes the smoothest line was on the other side of the road so this helped a lot.

Fuel wise we all had at least ~140L tanks, this was plenty as there are 4 places you can get fuel along the way. Unless you head up to Kalumbaru of course.

The spares I took were; Air filter, belts, top and bottom radiator hoses, fuel filter, oil. The only one I used was the fuel filter but I'd rather have too many than not enough.

Hope this helps.
