Camping South East QLD

Unread post by jsroberts8 » February 23rd, 2015, 2:02 pm

I'm looking for a great camping spot to take my 2yo daughter. She has done all the caravan parks/camping sites around here but I want to take her to somewhere off the beaten track-- where a commodore cant be parking right next to me. Im hoping for something fairly close to the Gold Coast and not across to any of the islands.

Any special spots you would recommend?

Peacock creek out of Kyogle, Toonumba dam, about 1.75 hr from the Goldy, Border Ranges, Mebbin State Forrest, Mount Warning lodge /caravan park ..
Most likely only have a few day trippers if any at all most times ..GOOGLE the places ..Peacock creek would be my choice .
There is also a couple of spots in and around Canungra too.

Hi,

Stinson Park on Christmas Creek is a great spot if you have kids, and it's only just out of Beaudesert.

Cheers

Hi jsroberts8
Boiling Billy have a guide book 4WD Treks Close To Brisbane with 25 tours around to Brisbane Region. It isn't written by Cathy Savage & Craig Lewis but I have a copy & the trips look interesting enough , so why not pick up a copy & use your 4wd for what it was designed for , Exploring. Start with the easy trips then go from there.
