Fraser island march 2018

Unread post by zrxfighter » March 12th, 2018, 4:53 pm

4 mates in 4 4x4s
Got on and off at Inskip.
15psi in tyres and no need for 4wd low range.
Diesel is $2.20 per litre on the island so if you can carry some all the better.
We went as far as Orchip Beach/Waddy Point and also crossed over to the western side twice. Camped at different spots every night.
Went to Lake McKenzie, Eli Creek, the Maheno wreck, Indian Head, Champagne Pools.
The wheather was to windy to fish on the eastern side so fished the western side when we were there, dart, trevs, pike.
If your planning a trip there drop tyre pressure to 15psi and use 2wd high and on the odd occasion 4wd in soft stuff if needed, you will save on fuel this way.
Phone reception, Optus was crap, Telstra was good.
Had a great time, should have taken the trail bikes though.
