Haha, thanks JS, I do live in corindi and have for 20 odd years. We used to drive right up to wooli along beaches, through swamps and over dunes. All locked up now :-(

On another note... Never let your guard down with the river crossing of Station Creek. My son went to Pebbly this morning around mid-tide (on its way up) and passed 3 4wds coming towards him on the beach. When he got to the creek he followed the 3 sets of tyre tracks and crossed where they had without actually seeing a vehicle cross or walking it. He bought the car 2 weeks ago and hadn't gotten around to arranging insurance. After stalling it spent 6 hours ignition barrel deep in the salt water. It's a write off.

Oh no - that sucks! I was towing a van when we last crossed an so I made sure I walked it carefully and tracked out my line. I can imagine that being a local and having done it so many times you wouldn't always be bothered getting knees deep in the water each time. That really is a shame

Hi RC, He was crossing about 100m toward the mouth where they have been crossing for a while. Trouble is that the high was a 1.8 and the low only .4, so it didn't completely drain. He was in a standard height 2000 navara diesel with no snorkel.

Cheers js.. I still won't cross until I see someone else do it or walk it to check depth. Young bloke knows it all though!

It'd be dead quiet during the week and only a few on the weekends. Plenty of room during this break usually.

Just spent 4 nights at Pebbly Beach, great place. Just wanted to mention how approachable and good Rob the contractor was. Went out of his way to help us out and give us tips for good fishing spots on the boat. He is a mad fisherman himself and usually has the fishing goggles on himself. Loved Pebbly Beach and will def be back.

That's a great report bigara101. Rob is a mate of mine and calls in at home regularly. Top bloke, always has a smile and a spare beer.

Im chasing some advice, Im looking for somewhere to camp on the NSW North Coast.

I have spent alot of time in yuraygir national park, everywhere from Pebley beach to Sandon and they are all great but im looking for somewhere new.

Does anyone know of any good camping spots between Coffs harbour (not near coffs) and Ballina that has both beach access and good fishing?

Thanks for any advice.
