If you are coming in that way, there's only 1 left turn to get you on to yellow cutting road to see the statue. Well worth a visit if you have never seen it.

I was thinking about coming in just after halfway creek roadhouse and after camped at pebbly for the 4 days go home via Coast Range road or yellow cutting road..
We'll do a day trip to the statue and few other tracks around the area..
Just looking at a few maps yellow cutting road could be a bit tough to tow campers though.. What are thoughts?

was there couple of weeks ago beach was easy and hard and so was the creek crossing. always do it as close to low tide as possible and be prepared to stay till the next low tide and as with any water crossing always walk it where you plan to drive both wheel tracks

Got home from pebbly late yesterday afternoon after spending 4 days camped there..The road in off the highway is pretty good just a few pot holes everywhere but ok. The beach leading up to the track that cuts into the creek crossing is pretty good just try and hit it about two hours before low or two hours after low so you've got that 4 hour window..The creek crossing is good, pretty much a consistent depth everywhere but walk it first.. The exit good I had my camper trailer in tow and I just needed to give a little bit of right foot but not much.. If not towing a trailer you'll just cruise up in first low..
Cheers

Your best bet would be Grafton, or Coffs. Coffs may have better luck, but Grafton's closer.
Don;t bother with the local at Minnie Water or Red Rock
So many weekends, so many tracks...so little fuel!

I'll be heading up on the 28th for a few days, hopefully the crowds will be mostly gone by then.
