Hi all,
Does anyone have any design ideas to make a rear bar and spare wheel carrier for a 90 series prado.
Cheers

I fabricated one for my series 1 Discovery and my Windsor Rapid caravan, and have a mate with a 90 series Prado who was hinting at wanting one for his car. At a quick glance it all looks pretty straight forward. I used 100x50 RHS for the main body of the bar, (4mm for the van and can't remember 4 or 5mm for the car) and 3mm sheet to form the ends. Use stub axles and flangeless hubs for the basis of the "swing" mechanism, and use some sort of over centre latch to hold it in place. I used gas struts on the car one to stop it from opening to far, but used plates and spring latches on the van for the same purpose. Use personal preference for what you want.

Thanks for the reply Low Ranger.
Sounds just like what I'm after.
