Another day out on the tracks. This one on Strickland Spur out near Marysville and trying hard to torture those Dick Cepek Mud Country tyres.
We liked the track that much we did it twice.

Loving them Bushy.....well so far. I have given them a fair bit of abuse and they are holding up well. Only thing is I haven't tried them in the mud yet  . Just refuses to rain in Vic lately.

Another work out for the Dick Cepek Mud Terrain tyres with a quick run out to Birdsville. Varying road conditions gave a better indication of how the tyres performed over the 3800 klm return trip into the desert.

Image

Encountered a bit of wet weather the last 100klms before Maree. Here I dropped the pressure down to 28 psi for the run up the Birdsville Track.
Some video!

The track had just reopened an hour before to 4WD's. It was a bit muddy to start with but further north we got conditions got better.

Image
Road conditions changed constantly on the Birdsville Track but tyres felt good and we sat on 80 - 90 kph with no dramas.

In the sand tyres were dropped to 20 psi and although I could have dropped them lower the tyres performed well at that pressure.

On the return journey it had rained on the Birdsville Track so it was a bit sloppy on some streatches but right pressure in tyres handled it well.

All in all a great trip and no tyre problems.

Next trip out the Pajero Challenge this weekend. Will be running around on the tracks in the Big River area and giving the Dick Cepek muddies another workout.

Another 2200 klms clocked up with a trip up to Cobar for the Cliffhanger event.
Leading spectator cars out to where the event stages are with about 500klms of dirt tracks and unmarked tracks. Run 20 psi out in the bush with no problems on the Dick Cepeks!

Dave
I have to agree with your positive thoughts re the FC11, had mine on the 80 now for 12 months and just love them. Just came back from a 5000 km trip through outback NSW, QLD and SA- across sand, gibber, dirt and bloody tar. I cannot fault them at all. Plenty of grip, great in the wet, they look great and quiet.
Good report mate

Cheers Kev, we even had some rain out at Cobar ( Mulga Downs) whilst there. Gave them a good flogging in the mud :D .
Very happy so far.

Actually I was in Coffs a few weeks ago and saw your truck in a car park near Maccas :D . Flew home from there and went to Cobar on Fri 10th. Back in to Melb last Sat!
