If you haven't engaged it, then it should be OK. Was thinking maybe the breather could be blocked and you have an air leak, pressurizing the diff.

Well just to revive an old thread with an update!

A few months after the workshop 'fixed' one side the other side started leaking just a little bit.

By then i had the s**ts so i gave up and just left it alone and figured that when it got bad again i would deal with it.

As this is not my main car it basically sat around for a few months with the odd weekend trip away with no real further issues.

Then about 2/3 months ago i went on a 3 week trip to Fraser Island and when we were pulled over at a servo around the border i took a look under the truck to find grease/oil had been spewing out everywhere from the hubs.

Anyway not much i could do so we trecked on and finished the trip.

When we got home i decided the the housing must be bent so i stripped down the truck and drove the housing and its bits off to 'Diff Trans'. - just an FYI you can JUST get the dissasembled housing and all the other bits into a WRX.....:) JUST

An 'arm-and-a-leg' later the news was in.....yep bent. So i had them straighten, reinforce, rebuild and delivery back home.

So far so good in terms of leaks however it has only really done one trip so far.

Some pics to make things more interesting:

Has it stayed sealed since you straightened & braced your diff... I'm bracing mine to ensure I don't bend it... They braced yours good & proper... Did you find out if it was the tube or ball end that was bent?
