Boulder piles look great in the morning light

Camp site

Shores look deceptively easy to drive

But having two cars means you can take a chance on the flats, even if it doesn't always pay off.

Pretty quiet fishing this weekend

Boulder pile behind camp would have looked awesome in this pic if I'd had he DSLR along

Is that mud or spongy sand Nilla? Nice fish, how'd you cook it? :)

We just got back from Eucs too. Caught 3 nice rainbows, all on grubs. No luck with any other way.

Mud with some amount of sand. You get mud flats that then get a layer of sand over the top so you can't see it. If I am by myself I stick to the rocky areas. Mate had zipped across a couple of times the day before so I got some speed up it and got across OK (though I could feel it breaking through and gunned it). Then he crossed with his Patrol and was going OK until he cross my tracks and in a twinkling of an eye he was bogged down to the rails.

Very appreciated to see two guys trotted up pronto with shovels to lend a hand, but we managed to winch out without too much drama.

The trout will get salted gravlax style. Yum.
