Unread post by Dave Luke » August 30th, 2010, 8:43 am

Hey guys and girls,
4WD Action are in the early stages of planning a trip to Kalgoorlie, we have heard along the grapevine that there are a tonne of keen 4WDers out that way so we decided it was time to come to you! We havent set a date yet as we know that plenty of the crew out that way are working shifts so we are happy to work the dates to suit you guys!

If you have a tidy rig and live or are happy to travel to Kalgoorlie for a shoot please post up a pic of your truck along with a list of mods and we will be in contact!

Cheers,

Would this be a weekend or a weekday trip? Sounds good though :thumb:. Possibly keen depending upon dates!

EDIT: Yes november would suit much better!!!

List of mods so far:
  • 3inch springs front, 3inch heavy duty rear with airbags, rear adjustable panhard, castor correction bushes
  • Dual wheel carrier, custom axe holder, spade holder, light bracket, high lift jack holder
  • 170L fuel tank, custom 40L water with inlet/outles
  • ARB winch bar with bashplate, IPF spots, 2 aerials
  • GME TX4400 in homemade dash pod along with electric brake controler
  • Part time conversion kit, extractors, 2.5 inch exhaust, snorkel, custom air intake mods
  • Rhino bars, cut down OL roofrack to make a mesh base
  • Steel sidesteps
  • single rear drawer to replace single seat (homemade), rear LED lighting on upper tailgate
  • 285/75/16 BFG all-terrains on GXL steelies
  • ARB air lockers front and rear
  • Electronic rust protection
  • Black widow awning side, ARB awning rear, custom triangle 'infill'
  • Also the usual dual battery setup, external solar power charger setup
  • HID spotlight conversion
  • HIR globes in headlights
  • Touchscreen GPS/Music/DVD headunit, loaded with ozi explorer and Hema maps
Also not too modified but has taken the family most places in WA towing a homemade campertrailer that is very different from the norm. Might be sitting on 35 inch muddies by the time november comes around...

I'm keen don't know if it is worthy of a shoot though.
I have done all the work myself except the Air Locker install.

60mm Dobinsons coils
3" Rear lovells shocks
Defender shocks in the front (3")
285/70R17 MTZ's
Air Locker front
ARB Air compressor under bonnet
Dual battery
Snorkel
Nissan bullbar
Warn winch with contactor pack and in cab switch
IPF's
GME UHF
2x Mobile phone car kits
Home made rear drawers
80L Waeco
55L Water bladder between seats and drawers
Roof rack when required for camping gear

Currently (slowly) making a rear bar and cargo barrier with more custom storage solutions.

I know it ain't much but it has been all over Australia and gets the family out and about seeing this country.
