THE WAR OF THE WINCHES

Unread post by citygirl » August 18th, 2012, 9:59 am

A new winch competition and something just a little bit different coming to the great south east. The plans are for a monthly winch competition to be held at CITY VIEW CAMPING & 4WD PARK, some details still to be sorted out but the general guidelines will be :- there will be two classes

one of which will be the extreme class which will be open to winch trucks, buggy/truggy and polaris style vehicles all competing against each other with a maximum tyre size of 38". No portal axles or rear steer allowed and normal winch challenge style rules and specs will apply.

The other class will the stocker class which will be only open to full bodied 4wds which will have a maximum tyre size of 33" no lockers or welded diffs etc and stock standard winches. (roll cages will not be required for this stocker class)

The proposed entry fee for the event will be $120.00 per round if paid a minimum of seven days in advance or $150.00 if paid in less than seven days, this will also cover park entry & camping on friday and saturday nights for the driver and navigator.

There will be no fee for tow vehicles providing they are left in the campgrounds with trailers attatched, if they are to be used in the park at all then normal park entry fees will apply.

Please show your support for this event by posting here or phoning steve on 0438043871 or email cityview@hotmail.com.au as the bigger the show of support the sooner we get it up and running.

Maybe in addition or even instead of one of the other classes you should consider a 'Touring Class' to cater for all those Wagons & Utes etc out there with relatively small lifts, 33 or smaller tyres, & a locker or two? Lots of them, in fact there appear to be more every day, & lots of owners & owners families who might like to enter such a comp but can't cos they have a locker or two in an otherwise mildly modded 'tourer' or the family fourby so never get a look in?
An Ex-Service person is someone who thought enough about their country & how great it is, how lucky we are to live here, to write a blank cheque made out to 'The People and Commonwealth of Australia' for the value of 'Up to & including my Life!'

Yeah ... it seem that even the most basic of tourers will run a front locker these days.
Not that I will be planning a trip to the east any time this year. :D
Cheers
Chris.

unfortunately if you run lockers for insurance reasons you will need to have a cage, if you run air lockers then they can be disconnected and not used would be acceptable but if you have lockrites or welded etc unfortunately at this stage you will not be able to enter the stocker class. for any questions ph steve 0438043871
