There are a couple down here near Ulladulla or you could go to Mystery Bay Just south of Narooma.
You can't camp on the beach but you're only a very short walk away at all of them.
I just got lost in thought. It was unfamiliar territory.

Nice primitive campground at Moruya Heads, North Heads Rd next to airport. 50m to the beach (good swimming, fishing and surfing, as it is adjacent to the breakwall) and 50 metress to the Moruya River, good fishing there.

Hi chad lisch
http://www.boilingbilly.com.au as a guide book for Camping in NSW & has a section for the south coast also have a book 4WD Adventures Southern NSW which I so far have done 8 of the trips .
If you are going over the Christmas break a lot of the beach site have fees & pre-booking so check if sites are available . At Bittangabee Bay in Ben Boyd NP we had to book 3 months in advance cause Saltwater was already booked but up in the mountains easy to find campsites beside a clear flowing river or creek as they are more 1st in 1st served but where ever you go all very nice .

ill vouch for mystery bay, beautiful place!
and you walk about 100m tops to the sand and beach where you leave your campsite under trees and in shade so you can set up a gazebo/event14 all day, good snorkeling there

Bournda, Wapengo Lake, Mimosa Rocks, Ben Boyd Nat Park, Cape Conran (but it's just a little over the border), and a heap more.... Lotsa loverly camping, heaps of interesting (but not particularly hard) 4Wheeling; and if you get bored with the beach, it's less than an hour into the hinterland or onto the escarpment and places like Peak Alone, Yowrie, Bendethra Valley....

Those Boiling Billy Books are well worth it, lots of info, what maps to get, where to camp, heaps of driving, and background info too.

Enjoy!!

Hi there,

Try shallow crossing on the Clyde river, private property, owner Jim, small camping fee.
Or dry creek via Araluen road, river camping and top 4x4 driving, 30 mins out of Moruya.

Lots of fun

Yadboro Flats. Turn right at the lights in Milton. Follow signs to Pidgeon House Mt, then signs to Yadboro.
Good flat camp grounds, river for swimming, long drop dunny, fire rings. Can get busy, 2wd access in dry.

+1 for Moruya Heads. Gets busy through the holiday periods. The 7am Rex flight to Sydney is a killer though.

When ever we can get away for a week end & want to camp on the South Coast we generally go to green Patch in the Booderee National Park Jervis Bay. Great spot, lots of Wildlife, Native Birds, kangaroos, Wallabies, Possums etc. Great for fishing also caught many a great Din Din there.

Hi guys a reminder Booderee National Park is not covered by the NSW National parks Permits if you have an All Parks Pass or any other for this area as it is classified in the A.C.T.

Yawal near nowra is a nice spot. Good offroading, campsite near the water etc & not far from the harbs.
Coolendel is good too but not sure what its like these days, we used to just pop up a tent on the bank. Some good tracks that criss cross the river. Snorkel a must!
