DOUBLE ISLAND is a great spot under 3 hours from brisbane and a personal favourite of ours.
great fishing
walking tracks
head inland for some 4wd adventure
travel beach to rainbow beach township
visit double island point. rainbow beach side is good for swimming with kids.
choice of beach camping or in the campground with coin operated showers and toilets.
here is a sneak peak of double island.

Tasmania is full of wonderful places to take your camper trailer with not too much travelling to get there.
Some of my favourite places to head off with camper in tow are; Cockle Creek, Central Highland Lakes area and east Coast around chain of lagoons.
The great part about these places is they are all only a couple of hours from Hobart, 2 have wonderful beaches with the other location ideally suited for my other love, trout fishing. They do not take much planning, not too arduous a journey, wonderful scenery when you arrive and nice restful places to be.

Brooms Head NSW

3.5 hours from Brisbane down Pacific highway. will sure to get quicker once all roadworks are completed.
great camping spots
great beaches
great 4wd tracks

myself and a couple mates did a trip down there on the weekend just gone. had a great time.

I will be heading back with the family and camper trailer shortly.

cheers
Ben
