79 series dual cab towing Patriot camper

Unread post by dualcab79er » December 11th, 2014, 4:42 am

Hi all -
Is anyone towing a Patriot X1 camper with a VDJ79 dual cab? I have ordered one for myself and have been told I need to have the draw bar extended to make clearance for the tray. any input would be great.

it does look like they have very short drawbars.

Have you aproched patriot about the issue.
Quotes from from camper trailer mag Australia and months of research as the patriot was 1 of 2 camper trailers I was seriously going to buy. (Went another comoany)

" An optional interchangeable drawbar adds some length for those longer rear doors and eases the pain when reversing"
"The extendable (in construction) drawbar would be great for those owning a barn-door type of vehicle."

Are they aware that your new patriot is getting towed by a 79 seires.

... Seems to me you should opt for the extended drawbar ...
