Tips/feedback on my slide on trailer mounted camper idea?

Unread post by loc_white » June 23rd, 2014, 9:34 pm

Hey guys,
I am working on a design of a slide on camper to fit my standard offroad trailer.
What I am hoping to achieve is to be able to have a trailer I can use for general use and then come the weekend , slide the camper on and hit the tracks.

I have been playing around with google sketch and have come up with a basic idea.

Any tips or feed back would be appreciated.

think ya might want the fridge down lower ...
These designs always seem to end up high and heavy, so watch the whole thing carefully.
I've started on a design similar to this several times and keep binning plan after plan.
Take a look at the Patriot camper trailer design, and see if you can work something from that. Gotta say I don't much like it myself, but it's not a bad place to start IMO.

Thanks for the response Eddy,
I have been thinking about the fridge slide, was considering a drop down slide as I cant lower it because the trailer side would be in the way.

Ive looked at the Patriot trailers, its basically the style I am going for.

I am sure that the above design is definitely not going to be my last.
